Concept B · Design direction for St Piste-ers 2027
Piste Map
Your trip, signposted like a mountain.
Borrowed from trail maps and resort wayfinding: every task is a station on your run, progress is a route line, and status uses real piste-marker shapes so nothing relies on colour alone. Condensed signage type and a navy-and-snow palette keep it crisp, functional and a little bit playful.

Typography
Barlow Condensed for everything that would be painted on a sign — headings, labels, numbers. Barlow for reading. Numbers are always tabular so countdowns and money line up.

Navy and snow do the heavy lifting. Piste colours are a semantic system, never decoration — and they always travel with a shape.

Piste markers
Status borrows the shapes of real piste markers, so it reads in greyscale, for colour-blind users and at a glance.
Task status
- Done — green circle, tick
- Needs you — red diamond, exclamation
- With organisers — blue square, ellipsis
- Started — half-filled square
- Not applicable — dash
Ability = piste grade
- First time
- Beginner

- Advanced
The grade is written out, so the colour band is never the only cue.

Photography
Natural colour, big skies, real mountains. Photos are framed like map insets: square-ish corners, and information sits on solid sign plates — never thin text floating over snow.
